Beliefs, Affirmations, and Your Golf Game
Your beliefs, whether they are positive or negative, are literally etched into your brain in grooves, otherwise known as neural pathways. All the data - what we see, hear, smell, feel, and say - from our five senses travel on these neural pathways in order to be interpreted by our brains. Therefore, if you want to alter a negative or limiting personal belief into an empowering one, you must rewire the negative neural track that has already been created. For instance, if you want to improve your golf swing, you need to believe that you can develop a better golfing technique.
You can do this by using positive self-talk or affirmations. An affirmation is a statement of fact or belief that will lead toward the end result you desire. Anything that follows the words, “I am,” such as “I am a great golfer” or “My golf swing is powerful” is an affirmation. This technique is regularly used by professional athletes - just remember Muhammed Ali and his firm affirmation: “I am the greatest!”.

I heard about this same thing in a radio interview about for the Awake2000 affirmation unit. They talked about improving your golf game using affirmations and how a lot of the way you think consciously affects your game. I also heard that Tiger Woods does this. Coincidentally, it was also mentioned about Muhammad Ali. It’s all good stuff.
