-12 was the final score for Angel Cabrera, the 2009 Masters Tournament Champion. The tournament itself was an amazing contest between seasoned professionals and up-and-coming talents from around the world. In the end, the better golf swing belonged to an Argentinean who goes by the name Angel Cabrera.
The final day of tournament play was one to remember with several big name players – Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson – making a final push towards recapturing the famed “green jacket”. Their run at the jacket, however, fell short and forced a playoff between Angel Cabrera and the 48-year-old Kenny Perry. Both players looked a little rusty on the playoff holes with some less than perfect shots and missed opportunities. Finally though, Cabrera sunk a tournament winning par putt on only the second hole of the playoff to claim the green jacket as his own.
Angel Cabrera became the lowest ranked player in the world – 69 – to win the master tournament and he provided some great golfing tips to the millions of viewers that watched his magical run at the jacket.
All of us here at Thought Free Golf would like to congratulate Angel Cabrera on winning his second major tournament and becoming the first Argentinean to have officially earned the famed green jacket.
